The Up Side Down Flexure

Up Side Down Flexure

This novel design is a simple four bar design, but it has very little dip compared to a standard four bar flexure. The unique thing about this design is that the two sets of flexures are arranged with one set pointing up and the other set pointing down, or at any other 180 degree opposing arrangement. As the flexure is displaced linearly, the lower end of the platform dips down; but at the same time the upper end moves up. Lower and upper are relative, as the attitude could have any angular orientation.
